A Big Letdown Reviewed by TimJa on

I have always wanted to try Mayflower Seafood. I had heard good things about the Raleigh and Shelby locations.
I suppose that the first bad omen came when my wife's baked potato came with a huge rotten spot right where the cook could not have overlooked it.
My son's chicken wrap was loaded with runny cheese. He could only get half of it down before giving up.
My daughter described her fettuccine as slimy and wilted but managed to eat most of it.
My seafood combo consisted of rubbery shrimp, undercooked fries, and over cooked flounder. I did not even bother to have the cook try again. Off the bill it came.
I grew up on Calabash seafood and I can be forgiving if it' is not Calabash fresh. But quite frankly, Seafood Night at Golden Corral is better than this.
A big disappointment!!!
Pros: Plenty of seating

We went to Mayflower last night for dinner. The service was outstanding (I did not catch the waiter's name) and the food came out much faster than I expected (faster than it normally does, I'd say). The clam strips and fried oysters were wonderful. The only bad thing was the deviled crab didn't seem to have any meat in it, just seasoned breading.
Pros: Reasonable Pricing, Good Food, Great Service, Quick Service
